What is the heart of community?
What are the stories that define it?
Can theatre bring those stories together? These core questions form the heart of Cruising the Divide, the Apprentice/Intern Company’s final project for the 2007/08 season. The project is a continuation of last year’s community-based project Gathering Note, which focused on stories from the Highview neighborhood.
This year, the company has partnered with community members from West Louisville and throughout the city to develop the play. Cruising the Divide focuses on derby cruising and the passionate, varied and often conflicting points of view on the subject. The project aims to bring together these diverse points of view to foster dialogue and to celebrate community.
